Man Advantage 4: Full Spoiler Guide
Through channel nine — the dead service microphone under the south stands — Marin Rowe hears two kittens screaming, and the two Boston Bastions who walk into her control room help her pull Mica and Thimble out of the flooded Zamboni trench. Colin Bissett and Gabe Leduc are married to each other. They also, through Bissett-Leduc Holdings, own twelve percent of the project that wants to demolish her home. Man Advantage 4 is Lady Heartswell’s MMF hockey romance about coercive care — a married gay couple, a twenty-one-year-old audio engineer, and a grovel measured in escrow, waivers and a $6.8–8.1 million conveyance for nothing.
What it is
Marin is a senior broadcast-engineering student, Northbank arena’s audio technician, and secretary of the twenty-seven-resident Bellwether co-op next door. Colin is the planner who hides things; Gabe is the provoker who hides a six-year knee injury from his own husband. The developer Todd Sutter wants Bellwether as a landscaped loading court. Every romantic escalation in the book is answered by a procedural one: a tenant-meeting minute, a suspended badge, an independent-review instruction, an eighteen-month voting escrow.
Who will love it
Readers of established-couple-opens-up MMF who want the marriage shown as prior and whole; readers who like a heroine who wins arguments with cable voltage labels and recording checksums; and readers who enjoy the “your landlord is the love interest” premise turned inside out — she is not rescued into their house, they give the house’s ground away.
Tropes
- MMF triad; married M/M couple opens to a third; the “one impossible exception”
- Billionaire athlete / working-class heroine; age gap; the landlord is the love interest
- Found-pet meet-cute (Mica and Thimble); community organising B-plot
- Possessive-alpha behaviour critiqued, not rewarded; renunciation as grand gesture; hidden injury
- Corporate sabotage conspiracy; press-conference declaration; household documents, not marriage
Heat
Site heat level: Dark. On the page: explicit and frequent, seven scenes — orders given and refused (“she refuses Gabe’s command to remove her underwear because he ordered it”), M/M with and without Marin present, double penetration in chapter 27 prepared for slowly, and the book’s equivalence between coerced care (unannounced entry, purchased fixes) and sexual boundary violation.
Content notes
Searching her address, schedule and food purchases; contractors entering her locked bedroom under investor access; concealment of a legal interest in her home; threatened eviction; deliberate property sabotage that nearly drowns two kittens (one resuscitated); a chronic knee injury hidden from medical staff; public shaming (“gold digger,” “beard”); consensual slaps and spanking; explicit MMF and M/M sex.
Full plot, with spoilers
Colin lies by omission at the clinic — “the Bastions have an interest in the site.” Marin confronts them with the city’s demolition survey permits, and the first three-way encounter happens in the recovery suite with no one touching her; she insists sex will not erase the investment. She proves Colin’s $22,000 of “replacement processors” are the wrong isolation standard; at the tenant meeting he gives a donor answer and is called on it. After the first full night, Colin’s contractors enter her bedroom at six in the morning; she suspends every badge and cuts contact until he signs an independent-review instruction over his own shares. Then, cutting a flood-incident clip, she finds channel nine recorded Sutter, Colin and Gabe discussing a “fallback option” minutes before the kittens screamed — a side letter letting the husbands’ company buy Bellwether outright.
She blocks both numbers, moves the kittens to Kelsey and herself into a campus room facing a brick wall, and builds an employment firewall around herself. The husbands spend a night naming what they built — “we made her choices inside a room we secretly owned” — waive the option in recordable form, put all votes in eighteen-month escrow, and dump 412 files into the tenant archive in a folder titled WHAT WE FAILED TO TELL YOU. Reading all of them, Marin learns Sutter flagged her by name (“low financial capacity; likely persuadable through scholarship continuity”) while the husbands never noticed her at all. Gabe’s knee collapses on the stairs; she refuses to order him and says “I love you” by accident. A preservation inspector finds a third drain on no plan: Sutter paid Boreline Core Services for “moisture acceleration testing.” The meet-cute was engineered damage.
The ending (spoiler)
At the playoff dinner Colin says the actual thing — a closed triad — and a photograph runs under a headline about the secret property deal. Marin refuses to let the husbands sit beside her and gives her own press statement at Northbank: “We are a closed relationship of three people… I love them both.” Bellwether votes the Northbank-Bellwether Community Trust through 26–1. At the public university board session the husbands convey their entire twelve-percent stake to the trust with no profit, no naming rights, no seats; Sutter’s lawyer attacks it as an emotional act, and Gabe answers that he would not have looked without Marin — “an admission of prior failure, not evidence that the drain opened itself.” The board terminates Sutter 7–1 and places both properties under a ninety-nine-year covenant. A year later Northbank reopens with MARIN ROWE — DIRECTOR, BROADCAST SYSTEMS on the roster, hired through an open search; the three sign cohabitation, property, health-proxy and estate documents at Bellwether’s folding tables; Thimble disrupts the ribbon cutting. “One home with three nightstands, two furious cats, and no hidden door.”

Reader Questions
What did Colin and Gabe hide in Man Advantage 4?
A twelve-percent stake in the redevelopment of Marin’s building — and a side letter letting their holding company buy her co-op outright if tenants resisted.
Was the kitten rescue a coincidence?
No. The developer paid a contractor to core an unauthorized bore and drive storm water at the co-op’s foundation; the flood that nearly drowned the kittens was engineered.
How explicit is Man Advantage 4?
Explicit and frequent — seven scenes from chapter 5 including M/M between the husbands and double penetration, with test records exchanged before barriers come off.
