Werewolves Billionairely: Full Spoiler Guide

Liv Linwood is twenty-seven, newly a manager, and presenting a merger risk review that contradicts the whole deal team. She tells a hostile board her plan delays a smaller number. The chief executive of Markham Consolidated walks into the room, catches her scent, crosses the floor to her, and has her summoned to his office with one word: now. Werewolves Billionairely: Chosen for His Immortal Dynasty is Lady Heartswell’s paranormal billionaire romance: a shifter workplace romance where the pack is a board, the mates are executives, and the heroine’s answer to being chosen is to rewrite the charter.

What it is

Thirty-three chapters and an epilogue, dual POV, about a month of one winter between a Manhattan tower, a Hudson estate and the distribution hubs around Newark. A hidden society of wolf packs runs behind human corporations. Vaughn Markham heads the eastern house from the sixty-sixth floor, in a department called the Legacy Directorate. Its five directors run finance, operations, legal, communications and research. All five are his beta mates.

The offer he puts to Liv is a title, Director of Integration Strategy, with odd medical pages and “private terms” he will not explain yet. Her terms come later and they are better: a thirty-day trial, no bond, no mark, no pregnancy attempt, and a stop word, Open.

Who will love it

Readers of alpha werewolf romance, fated-mate and billionaire boss stories who want the power imbalance argued out on the page. Readers who like a heroine who negotiates in writing and a hero who has to give something real up. Readers who enjoy pack politics as boardroom politics: preferred shares, a hostile seat grab, a challenge circle. The five other women are characters with their own contracts and opinions, never rivals in a cat-fight.

Tropes

  • Immortal alpha billionaire; boss and new executive; scent recognition
  • Plural pack household; chosen mate with a rare bloodline; she outranks the role he offered
  • Trial period with a stop word; contracts for everything
  • He targeted her before they met; she finds the file; she leaves
  • Grovel by surrender of power; she claims him, he kneels
  • Rival alpha, hostile takeover, challenge fight; bonding bite; chosen pregnancy

Heat

Site heat level: Explicit. On the page it is explicit: six scenes from chapter 12, including one negotiated group scene in chapter 20 with two of the mates, biting and marking, and breeding at her request. The power exchange runs her way: she commands, he asks “May I?” and waits for “Confirm”. The darkness is the premise, an employer who selected her by bloodline, and the book says plainly that her consent in the trial was real but her information was not complete.

Content notes

Workplace power imbalance and corporate coercion; covert selection through a genealogy model; explicit sex including a group scene; biting with blood; fertility and pregnancy themes, with failed attempts and a bleeding scare; press harassment, including a child questioned at school; wolf-form violence; a backstory of a house fire that killed a mate and an adult daughter, and of infant deaths.

Full plot, with spoilers

The reader learns in chapter 2 what Liv does not: a bloodline model built by the research director found her maternal line six months ago, a winter alpha line thought extinct since 1918, and Vaughn sped up the acquisition of her firm partly to reach her. Her work did rank first in a blind assessment. Both things are true. All five mates object when he decides to tell her “in sequence”.

Liv meets the five women, who confirm without embarrassment that they all sleep with him. She uses her own doctor and refuses the hereditary test because she cannot consent to what she does not understand. At the Hudson estate she sees a black wolf in his reflection, a woman shifts in front of her, and Vaughn gives his age and his offer: beta mate, his bed, mother of his immortal children. She negotiates the trial. He sends $12.99 grocery-store tulips because the terms forbid expensive gifts.

She asks for a seventy-two-hour temporary mark, and during it the whole household orients toward her. That is not what a beta does. Frightened, he releases the mark early without asking, and she makes him adopt a protocol. On the full moon she shifts for the first time, a pale grey wolf, and the five wolves begin to bow. She turns away on purpose before they finish.

On the last day of the trial she finds an invoice headed Strategic Workforce Location and a map of her old firm outlined in gold. He confirms it. She keeps her job and leaves the estate. The five women take away his chair at the head of the table.

The ending (spoiler)

Alistair Sutherland, a rival alpha, buys board seats, leaks the household to the press, and offers Liv a forty-million-dollar “protection” trust. She reads it to the end and finds a Maternal Custody Contingency. She and the five women draft a new charter without Vaughn in the room. It strips his sole power over choosing mates, planning children, succession and protected assets. He signs it at 5:03 in the morning, before he knows her answer, and the general counsel removes Liv’s name from the packet so his surrender cannot be read as a purchase.

Then Liv makes him kneel and claims the alpha-mate office and the second seal in front of witnesses. The board rejects the rival plan six to five and puts Vaughn under a two-year monitor. In the challenge circle he pins Alistair by the throat in wolf form, and Alistair yields when Liv says the word. They complete the bond with a bite. One year later she is carrying their daughter, sits on the board, and co-rules a house where two of the other women are pregnant by their own timing and three have chosen to be done.

Reader Questions

How old is Vaughn Markham in Werewolves Billionairely?

Three hundred and forty-seven, born in 1679. He founded Markham Consolidated himself; the ‘great-grandfather’ in the company history is a public fiction.

Is Werewolves Billionairely a harem?

It is a plural household: one alpha, five beta mates who are also his senior executives, and the heroine. Vaughn is the only sexual link; the romance is Liv and Vaughn.

Does Liv forgive him for how he found her?

Not until he signs away his sole power over mates, heirs and household assets, before he knows whether she will come back. Then she claims the alpha-mate seal with him on his knees.
